Indian Girl- Oil on Canvas board, 20 cm x 25 cm

This is a painting I walked in and out of for a long time. I started it one day when I was in the mood for drawing a " not pretty', common, Indian face. But because of my preoccupation with figure studies and outdoor painting,I abandoned it midway.I cleaned my oil brushes yesterday, and completed it!Am actually happy with the result. It does look like one of the many common Indian faces that we see!

Complexity in simplicity. those are my thougts as one looks into those eyes. That's a strong woman there. I like this one a lot, Kasturi.
